Eloora Shorthorns located at Cavendish in South Western Victoria at the foothills of the Grampians mountain range is a seedstock business producing commercially functional Shorthorn genetics for over 50 years. The business has supplied genetics to all states and territories of Australia in addition to NZ and North America.
Utilising performance data and an uncompromising approach to structure the herd is consistently producing some of the highest indexing shorthorn animals each year. Annually calving over 100 registered females alongside an intensive prime lamb operation the properties are managed to maximise production, balanced with environmental sustainability. The planting of native trees and fencing off of natural habitats has improved soil types and removed degradation.
The herd is managed by Father and Son (Ray & Dion) after initially being founded by Ray’s father Stanley. The 4th generation of the Brook Family is now proudly involved with the operation.
